Brian Hillyer

Funeral Director/Owner

Brian Hillyer is the owner of Schroder Mortuary and a licensed funeral director in Illinois and Iowa. He's been a funeral director since 1992 and joined the staff at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis in 1995.  In 2002, he took over ownership. Before becoming a funeral director, Brian served in the US Navy. Brian has two sons and one daughter Adam, Evan, and Abigail.

Brian is a member of the Silvis Optimist Club, Silvis Business Association, East Moline/Silvis Rotary, East Moline Optimist and is a committee member for the Silvis Competitive Community Incentive (CCI) Steering Community. He is also a member of the Colona Chamber of Commerce. Brian and his children are members of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis.

Larry O'Brien

Funeral Assistant

Larry joined the Schroder Mortuary family in spring of 2006. Larry is an assistant on funerals and visitations. Larry is married to Pat and they attend Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline.

Larry is assistant fire chief of the Silvis Fire Department.

Pat O'Brien

Funeral Assistant

Pat has been with the Schroder Mortuary family since 2008. Pat assist on funerals and visitations.

Pat is Married to Larry. They are members of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline.

Ayla Ervin

Funeral Director

Ayla has been with the Schroder Mortuary family since December of 2006. She has a son Isaiah and they stay busy with band and soccer.
