Life Legacy
Lenora E. Monteith, 95, of Silvis, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis.
Services are noon Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, with visitation one hour before the funeral. Burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Silvis United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
She was born March 28, 1914, in Powersville, Mo., the only daughter of Bert and Mellie Smith Hume. She married Orson R. Monteith Oct. 26, 1933, in Unionville, Mo. He passed away March 12, 1988.
She worked as a toy assembler at Buddy L. in East Moline for 17 years. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghans and loved to help others. She was a loving and devoted mother.
Survivors include her daughters, Freda (Art) Kinman, East Moline, and Donna (Dale) Phillips, Silvis; son, David (Kathleen) Monteith, Port Byron; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Kenneth Hume, Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Bill Monteith.
