Robert L. Hester, 67, of Silvis, died Feb. 6, 2010, at home.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Schroder Mortuary, Silvis.
He was born Feb. 6, 1943, in Quincy, Ill., to Harold and Rose Marie Finley Hester. He married Viola Large on Sept. 7, 1973. She died Oct. 9, 1991.
He served in the Army and later in the Navy. He had worked at Illini Hospital, Silvis, for 35 years.
He was a life member of Silvis Masonic Lodge 898, past president three times of FOE 1839, Silvis, and commander and past commander of VFW Post 2506, East Moline. He also enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his sister,Barbara Regnold, Denton, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
