Robert W. Showalter, 62, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Bob was born Sept. 29, 1947, in Moline, the son of Robert W. and Mary Haage Showalter. He married Mary Bowling Stafford Showalter in Rock Island Nov. 23, 1974.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked at John Deere Harvester. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, street rods and was very involved with the Rock River Rodders. He also loved spending time with his grandson, Chevy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Showalter, East Moline; son, Brian (Margaret), Milan; three grandchildren, Chevy Showalter, Cheyanne Clark and Lily Showalter.
He was preceded in death by his stepsons, Jerry and Scott Stafford; his son, Mitchell Showalter; his parents; and his stepmother.
