Terrenta Patton

June 9, 1935 - June 4, 2010

Terrenta Patton Sr., 74, of Davenport, surrounded by his children, grandchild and friends, passed away from this life on Friday, June 4, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

Services will be noon Saturday, June 12, at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Cremation rites will be given following services. Memorials may be made to the family.

He was born July 9, 1935, in Oxford, Miss., to the Rev. T. Spencer and Edna L. Susie Herod Patton. His formal education began at St. John School and after moving to Davenport, continued at J.B. Young High. He married Deloris Simmons on Aug. 10, 1955. To this union three children were born.

He was employed at International Harvester Farmall Works, from which he retired after 34 years of service.

In his younger years he was a member of 3rd Missionary Baptist Church in Davenport. He loved spending time with his friends, including many from the Knights of Pythias Hall in Davenport. He was also a faithful member of Greater Faith Church, Davenport, until his health prevented his attendance.

Survivors include his daughter, Veronica (Donald) Crawley, Milan; sons, Terrenta Jr. and Darryl, both of Davenport; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his loss a host of nieces, a nephew, aunts and numerous cousins and friends.
