Marion Gatrel, 90, of Silvis, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Monday at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
He was born Dec. 31, 1919 in Powersville, Mo., to Julius and Elizabeth Yeater Gatrel. He married Betty Severin on April 23, 1949, in Davenport.
He was employed at International Harvester for 32 years. He enjoyed gardening, walking and feeding the birds.
Survivors include his children, James (Sharon) Gatrel, Lake City, Fla., and Cynthia (Steve) Lofgren, Silvis; grandchildren, Jason Martel, Bret Martel, Brandon Martel; great-grandchildren, Nick Perkins, Alex Martel, Morgan Martel and Devin Martel; sister, Wuanita Watson, Powersville, Mo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; two brothers, Lewis and Arthur; and sisters, Helen, Mabel, Madge, Marge and Marie
