Biography

Donald E. Duncan, 70, of Swedona, died June 26, 2010, at his home.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Burial is at Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Memorials may be madeto the family.

He was bornAug. 27, 1939, in Pilot Grove Township, Ill., to Edwin and Margaret Huber Duncan. He married Sharon Zirbes, in 1964. He later married Donna Stahr, Nov. 19, 1979, in Meridian, Miss.

Don worked at John Deere Harvester for 35 years repairing combines. He retired in 1998. He served in the Army.

Don was a member of the Ophiem American Legion, he enjoyed camping at Shady Lakes campground, fishing, hunting, old western movies and he was an avid Bears fan. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors (spouse) include his wife, Donna; children, Cathy (Mickey) LeMaire and Brian Stahr, all of Milan, William (Jessica) Duncan, Moline; six grandchildren; sister,Patricia (Donald) Goyette, Mass.; brother, Jack (Mildred) Huber, Albington, Ill.; and his dog, Duke. He was preceded in death by his parents.
