Teresa Sierra, 92, of Silvis, died June 27, 2010, at Trinity Pathway Hospice, Bettendorf.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Burial is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 2-7 p.m.Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Mass donations.
She was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Leon, GTO, Mexico, to Benito and Feliz Anguino Terronez. She married Louis T. Sierra, Feb. 22, 1936, in Paducah, Ky.
Teresa worked at Mirando's in Milan as a cook. She then worked at Grants Department Store in Moline, and later worked at Buddy L Toy Company in East Moline.
She was a member of St. Monica's Alter Society. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and making tortillas. She was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Silvis. Her happiness was having family around her, especially her grandchildren. She was the eldest of 13 and helped raise her brother and sisters.
Survivors include her children,Jenny (Victor) Saucedo, Guadalupe T. (Raymond Jr.) Campos, and Juanita Teresa (Carlos) Cervantes, all of Silvis. Mario J. (Theresa) Sierra Sr., Moline; foster child, Marie Terronez Magana; daughter-in-law, Sally Sierra, Silvis; son-in-law, Frank Trujillo Sr., Silvis; siblings, Gabriela Moreno, Jessie Vallejo, Manuela Munos, Mercedes Medina, Benidicto Terronez, Joseph Terronez, Alvino Terronez, Cruz Terronez, Antonia Perez, and Delores Esparza; sisters-in-law,Yvonne Terronez, Miguela Molina, Jessie Sierra, and Lucha Sierra; brothers-in-law, Isaias Ayala, Julian T. Sierra; 33 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
She was precededin death by her parents; husband; her children, Antonia Sierra Reyes, Mary Lou Trujillo, Louis T. Sierra Jr.; her siblings, Angie Ayala, Exigia Terronez, and Guadalupe Terronez; a grandson, Timothy Michael Trujillo; great-grandchildren, Michael Paul and Louis John Saucedo, Bradley Michael Dean, Nadia Cervantes-Sherman and Jeremiah David Butts; foster children, Manuel Terronez, Raymond Terronez, Rosendo Terronez, and Victoria Terronez-Polzin.
