Truman Stottler
February 5, 1927 - July 3, 2010
Truman Stottler, 83, of Dorchester, Iowa, formerly of Geneseo, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Waukon, Iowa.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Truman was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Carlinville, Ill., the son of Paul Mason and Mabel Fox Stottler. He married Glee Lane March 25, 1950, in Moline. She passed away Dec. 25, 1992.
He worked as a tool and die maker at Case IH and was also chairman of the Local 1306, retiring in 1989. Truman served in the Army during World War II and the Korean conflict and was a lifetime member of the Geneseo VFW. Truman was also a member of the Clement Masonic Lodge No. 680 in Colona and the Moose Lodge in Geneseo. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his daughters, Sheryl Wadsworth, Spring Grove, Minn., and Nancy (Butch) Thompson, Geneseo; sons, Mike Stottler, Springfield, Mo., and Steve (Sue) Stottler, Moline; sisters, Maggie Bahnks, East Moline, Yavonne Hover, Denton, Texas, Marie (Jerry) Douglas, Green River; brothers, Roy (Jane) Stottler, East Moline; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.
