Alice Hood

Alice Joyce Hood, 90, of Silvis, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at her home. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private service will be at a later date. She was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Mart, Texas, to John and Susie Chapman Noel. She married John Hood April 8, 1943, in Biloxi, Miss. She retired from Seaford Clothing after 22 years. She enjoyed quilting, mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting and drives through the countryside. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, John; children, Joan (Jerry) Lemburg, Bluegrass, Joyce (Jim) Draper, New Port Richey, Fla., and Ralph (Nancy) Hood, Milan; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Henderson, Middleton, Ohio, and Bobbie Jean Bennet, Grandview, Ariz.; and close friend, Frank Meirhangue. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, grandson and a brother.
