Bernice M. Reed, 86, of East Moline passed away Aug. 15, 2016 at Unity Point Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11am Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in East Moline. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bernice was born July 28, 1930 in Albia, IA the daughter of Pearl and Hazel Morris Thomas. Bernice worked and retired from John Deere Harvester. She enjoyed reading and working in the yard.
Survivors include her children Reginald (Mary) Reed of Davenport, Celeste Reed of East Moline, Bridgette Reed of East Moline and Vanessa Simmons of Montgomery, IL; grandchildren Constance Goodwin, Lucky Mitchell, Michelle Westerfield, Tenise Westerfield, Reginald Bullock, Diandra Wright, Shantrese Scott, Kwanisha Scott and Simone Nelson; a host of great and great great grandchildren; sisters Pearl Hayes of Detroit, MI, Katherine Teague of Moline, Carol Morney of East Moline; sisters in law Darlene Thomas, May Thomas, Bonnie Martin; brother in law Charles Williamson all of East Moline and brother in law James Baker of St. Louis and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
