Betty P. Cowart, 88, of Silvis, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, at her home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral services. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, East Moline, American Red Cross or Illini Hospital Foundation.
She was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Moline, to Glen and Clara Redell Haddick. She married Ralph L. Cowart on July 24, 1961, in Washington, D.C.
Betty worked at John Deere Harvester and Plow and Planter Works. She had also worked for Washington, D.C. Wildlife Foundation and the Civil Defense in Florida.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Illini Hospital Auxiliary, Health Quest at Illini Hospital, Senior Citizens of Silvis and she also volunteered at Rosewood Care Center.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Carol Miller, East Moline, Nancy Dunham, Peoria, Ill., Sarah Pottorf, Silvis, Jim Wilson, Birmingham, Ala., David Wilson, Spokane, Wash.; special cousin, Donna Webb; several great-nieces and -nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
FUNERAL SERVICE Saturday October 23, 2010, 11:00 - am at Schroder Mortuary
