Bobby Mills, 75, of Colona, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at his home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association or Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
He was born April 10, 1936, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Wesley and Irene Adams Mills. He married Marlene Stirk on Aug. 13, 1963, in Silvis.
He served in the Army. He worked at John Deere as a mechanic, retiring in 1994 after 30 years.
He was a member of the Deere Harvester Bass Club and loved fishing.
Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Marlene, Colona; children, Sherry (Tommy) Thornton, Colona, Becky (Bill) Vickery, East Moline, Bobby (Liz) Mills Jr., Cary, Ill., Larry (Katy) Mills, Carpentersville, Ill.; grandchildren, Justin, Ashley Anderson and Nathan Thornton, Kayla Vickery, Bobby Mills III, Nicholas, Michael and Courtney Mills; great-grandchildren, Kayden Thornton and Allison Anderson; brothers, Gene and Jimmy Mills; sisters, Betty, Janetta, Peggy and Kathy. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Ryan; and a sister, Lou.
