Barbara J. Griffin

Barbara J. Griffin, 91, of Colona passed away July 24, 2022 at WoodRidge
Supportive Living in Geneseo.
 
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 29, 2022 at
Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, 5106 28th Avenue, Moline, Illinois.
Burial will be held at Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona.
 
Barbara was born March 24, 1931 in Moline, IL the daughter of Leslie and Pearl
(Allison) Willard. She married Bob Griffin July 24, 1948 in Moline, IL. Barbara was
a caregiver and homemaker and worked as a school bus driver for Pinks Bus
Service in Geneseo. She loved her family and loved the Lord and humbly served
Him as a Sunday School and VBS Teacher at the Moline Gospel Temple. She and
her sisters also ministered at several nursing homes spreading the love of Jesus
to all she met. She loved spending time with her family and was always available
whenever they needed her. Her favorite pastime was reading the bible,
memorizing scripture and spending time in prayer and worship with her beloved
savior Jesus Christ.
 
Survivors include her children Dan (Sandy) Griffin – Oregon; Jodie (Brian) Olson -
Colona; grandchildren Marty Griffin (Nanna Johannsen) – Denmark; Jeff (Jenny)
Griffin – Bolingbrook; Hope (Adam) Neal – Monmouth; Josh (Kim) Olson –
Geneseo; Dan (Nimitta) Griffin – Oregon; and Jeremy Olson - Colona; great
grandchildren Alva Griffin, Levi Griffin, Mackenzie Griffin, Aurelia Griffin, Haylee
Neal, Liam Neal, Cameron Olson, Madison Olson, Laena Griffin, Journey Senn
and Amanda Johannsen. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Linda Griffin
and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dale and Pat Church; several nieces and
nephews and her best friend Audrey (Boots) Ward.
 
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob Griffin, her son
Chuck Griffin and her siblings Shirley (Abe) Banfield, Vivian (Bob) Erickson,
Carolyn (Glen) Fair and David (Lois) Willard.
 
The family would like to thank the WoodRidge staff for the love and care they
gave to Barbara and her family.
Well done Barbara Jean, you were a wonderful wife and mother, a loving grandma
and a good and faithful servant of the Lord.
