Charles A. Berryhill

Charles A. “Chuck” Berryhill, also known as “Heavy” and “Harley Papa”, 71, of Colona passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at Mercy One Genesis in Silvis.

Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday, June 5 at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. The family requests casual/biker attire. Memorials may be made to the family.

Charles was born June 22, 1953 in Rock Island, IL the son of Truman and Mercedes Soppe Berryhill. He married Jeanie Roberts November 23, 1987 in Pheonix, AZ. Chuck worked as a Harley Davidson mechanic for over 30 years. He enjoyed running slot cars twice a month at Colona Speedway at Dwayne Johnson’s property. He raised money and donated to St. Jude’s for the last 15 years and rode to Memphis to deliver the funds. He also donated to Toys for Tots for several years. Chuck played Santa Claus for the last 3 years at the Colona Legion. He loved his family and delivered his homemade spaghetti once a month.

Survivors include his significant other and mate in the end Peggy Santee; daughters Carrie (David Willett) Berryhill of Hillsborough, MO and Caitlyn (Keith) Morrison of Blue Grass, IA; grandchildren Keaton and Kasen Morrison, Shawn Berryhill, Megan and Dawson Chitwood, Colton and Easton DeBroeck, and Eliana Rose and Aliyah Henderson; 3 great grandchildren; siblings Mary (Mitch) Lundquist of Milan, Pat (Christie) Berryhill of Rock Island, and Cyndi McCoy of Galva; sister in law Margo Berryhill of Austin, TX and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wayne and Lloyd Berryhill, brother-in-law Jeff Vanthournout, and great niece Audrey Lundquist.
