Charlotte Melear

Charlotte Jane Melear, 74, of Colona passed away July 30, 2013 at her home in Colona. Funeral Services will be 1pm Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Charlotte was born May 16, 1939 in North Chattanooga, TN the daughter of Prater and Goldie McNabb Hatfield. She married Aden "Dayle" Melear June 27, 1967 in Gate City, GA. He passed away Sept. 14, 2012. Charlotte was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, canning, knitting and sewing. Survivors include her children Missy (Emmy) Kyser of Colona, Glen (Sandy) Griffith of East Moline and Phill Griffith of Colona; grandchildren Joshua (Casey) Kyser, Joseph Kyser, Jeremy (Trisha) Kyser, Dallas Griffith, Jarrid (Keri) Griffith, Jace Griffith, Houston Griffith and Austin (Angela) Griffith; siblings James (Judy) Hatfield, Doyal Hatfield, Darrel Hatfield, June (Jim) Brown, Bevelyn Ecklund, Patsy (Joe) Banther, Flo (Gene) Herzmann, Opal (Gary) Lewis. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bonnie Griffith and brothers Homer and Prater Jr. Hatfield.
