Daniel L. Cook, 81, of Silvis passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Allure of the Quad Cities in Moline.
Funeral services will be 11am Thursday, May 8, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Silvis with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
Daniel was born May 30, 1943 in Columbia, Missouri, the son of Hershel and Martha Riggs Cook. He worked at John Deere Harvester as a bend breaks operator, retiring after 35 years. Dan was the last student in the one room Frances E. Willard School House, also known as the Cook Schoolhouse in East Moline. He was a blood donor for over 30 years and enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a loving Christian and was very active at First Baptist Church in Silvis.
Survivors include his son Derek (Lisa) Cook of Daytona Beach, Florida; grandchildren Mina Cook, Summer Cook, and Morgan Cook; sisters Linda Bunch of Virginia and Janice (John) Brixey of Rock Island; brother Alan (Nancy) Cook of Geneseo, and several nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Dunsworth, and brother David Cook.
