Darrin Dale Johnston, 46, of Colona, died at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011.
A memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at a later date.
Darrin was born on Aug. 31, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Forrest and Julie Small Johnston.
Darrin was a union painter and drywaller. He enjoyed helping his family members with remodeling projects. He also enjoyed fishing, golf, playing cards and other family activities. He was also a huge Chicago Bears fan. Darrin will be deeply missed.
Darrin is survived by his daughter, Allison, and granddaughter, Delaney. He also is survived by four sisters, Kim, Robin, April and Lynn; two brothers, Tony and Lonnie; his mother and stepfather, Julie and Allan Hartsock; several nieces and nephews; and a dog, Maggie, whom he loved to walk.
He was preceded in death by his father, Forrest Johnston; and grandparents, Vern and Lena Small, Everett and Lillian Johnston, and Herman and Lu Hartsock.
