Dean A. Carter, 80, of Silvis, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Altar Guild at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline.
He was born April 26, 1936, in Moline, the son of Omer and Emily Johnson Carter. He married Helen Young Feb. 5, 1956, in East Moline. He enjoyed truck driving. Dean owned and operated Carter's Trucking.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; children, Linda Carter and Steve Carter, both of Silvis; grandson, Steven Carter, Champaign, Ill.; brother, Richard (Diane) Carter, Silvis; nephew, Danny Carter, Lexington, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Emily Carter.
