Dennis "Denny" R. Waite, 66, of East Moline, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
A celebration of Denny's life will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Silvis United Methodist Church, 1301 2nd Ave. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Denny was born Feb. 17, 1945, in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Chester and Betty Free Waite. He married Connie Schneck in 1964. He later married Vickie Downs in 1991 in Rock Island.
Denny was a customer service agent at United Airlines, retiring after 38 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was a master gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie; children, Steven Waite, Moline, and Stacie (Dan) Haack, Bettendorf; stepchildren, Shannon Woodruff, Rock Island, and Christian Morisette, Jasper, Ala.; grandchildren, Justin, Steven D., Steven W. and James; brothers, Dave and Dale Waite. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
