Donald E. Viager, 77, of Orion, passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.
Donald was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Moline, the son of Edward and Meta Stahl Viager.
He was the owner/operator of DeScheppers meat packing plant in Milan and also worked as a farmer in Orion. Donald also served in the Army. He enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his daughters, Laurie Viager, Orion, and Julie Livermore, Silvis; grandchildren, Evan Viager and Danielle Livermore; siblings, Ed Viager, Geneseo, Doris Morris, East Moline, and Roger Viager, Aledo. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Darla VanKlaveren; and a brother, Richard Viager.
