Donna M. Andon

November 26, 1935 — July 29, 2022

With love and sadness, the family of Donna Marie Andon announces her passing on 29 July 2022 at the age of 86. She will be warmly remembered by her family and friends as a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. May the angels and saints come to meet her, as she goes forth from this life.

A private service will be held in Hampton, IL at her husband’s gravesite.

Donna was born November 26, 1935 to Keith and Eva Nelson on a kitchen table at her Aunt’s farm near Viola, Illinois. Donna went to Moline High School, and after flirting with a career as a professional piano player, was swept off her feet by and then married Stanley R. Andon in July 1953. She has missed him since he passed on 26 May 2014. She remained a “Maroon” in spirit despite living most of her adult life in “enemy” territory of East Moline. Her self-sacrificing devotion to her husband, children, siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren was the true joy of her life. Gatherings with her family were always the highlight of her days.

Those left cherishing memories of her include her sister Marilyn (Milos) Marijan of Chicago, IL and her brother Larry Nelson of Moline, IL; four children: Debra Kane of Clear Lake, IA; Alan (Jeri) Andon of Fleming Island, FL; Jeffrey (Kathy) Andon of Colona, IL and Lori Redman of East Moline, IL. Additionally, Donna is survived by eight grandchildren: Justin (Crystal) Kane, Alexandra (Chris Bascon) Kane, Natalie (Travis) Babola, Robert (Hayley Scanlin) Andon, Nathan (Robert Gardner) Andon, Erik (Kathy) Andon, Ashley (Alex) Epkes and Danielle Redman; and seven great grandchildren: Ava Senatra; Ruby, Ellie, and Nola Epkes; McKenzie and Maverick Kane; and Asher Bascon.

We will miss you mom, sister, Grandma, Gigi. You showed and taught us how to always put family first. You were endlessly loving to all. While our hearts are aching, we all remain comforted by the warm glow of your love.
