Dorothy C. Forsyth

Dorothy C. Forsyth, 88, of East Moline passed away October 29, 2022 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10am Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family.

Dorothy was born August 2, 1934 in Amana Colonies, Iowa the daughter of Louie J. and Lillian K. (Jacobs) Forrester. She married Robert J. Munkirs May 10, 1952. He passed away July 4, 1964. She later married Bobby Joe Johnson. He passed away in December of 1971. She then married Woodburn “Woody” Forsyth August 12, 1978. He passed away July 11, 2007. Dorothy retired from East Moline School District as a school bus monitor. She also worked as a bar owner and bar tender and in retail at Arlans Department Store. She was past president and an active member of the Eagles Club in Rock Island where she also worked bingo. Dorothy enjoyed playing pool and cooking and baking for the Eagles Club, family, and friends.

Survivors include her children Pam Argenbright of Bailey Colorado, Cathy Demeurisse of East Moline, Merry (Jeff) Kerr of Moline, and Sandy (Tim) Schneider of Coal Valley; grandchildren Jen O’Conner, Rebecca Close, Lane Argenbright, Amy Bethell, Cher Hicks, Josh Kerr, Jason Johnson, Matthew Schneider, Melissa Whitney, and Justin Forsyth; 20 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren with 2 on the way and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brother Melvin Forrester; great grandson Jacob Starling; stepson Dan Forsyth; son in laws Bob Argenbright and John Demeurisse.
