Dorothy Rotz

Dorothy Miner Rotz, 89, of Hampton passed away April 10, 2013 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus. Funeral service will be 6pm Sunday Schroder Mortuary. Visitation will be 2 hours before the service. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hampton Memorial Parkway. Private burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Dorothy was born Nov. 12, 1923 in Silvis the daughter of Nicholas and Viola Schultz Miner. She married Kenneth Rotz Aug. 27, 1943 in Fresno, CA. He passed away April 23, 1992. Dorothy was a member of Short Hills Country Club for 50 years. She enjoyed golf and walking the Hampton bike path and watching birds. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Survivors include her children Jana (Ronald) Sebestik of Mahomet, IL, Jill Rotz of Silvis, Jonie (Chuck) Pearson of Rock Island, Kim (Bob Coombs) Rotz of Portage, MI and Kenneth Rotz of Port Byron; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Juanita Samuelson and Molly Solmonson. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Victor, Ed and Dan and sisters Grace and Norma.
