Eleanor Hobbs

Eleanor May Hobbs, 94, of East Moline passed away May 23, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Private funeral services will be held at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House Foundation or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House Amazon Wishlist.

Eleanor was born January 16, 1927, the daughter of Willie Christensen and Bertha Hamer Christensen in the Old Stone House on Friendship Farm in Hampton Township. She graduated from UTHS and married Jack N. Hobbs on October 21, 1951 in Rock Island. Eleanor retired from the East Moline School District.  She was a lifelong avid Cubs fan and enjoyed estate sales, collecting, and gardening.

Survivors include her daughters Julie (John) Doy and Sue (John) Whipple; grandchildren Christy (Jake Good) Rade, Jacob Doy, Andrew Whipple, Sarah (Tim) Weller, Brandon (Lindsay Eisentrout) Hobbs, Jack N. Hobbs, and Brianna (Mike Firth) Hobbs and her beloved great granddaughters Bobbi Marie and Rowan May Weller.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son - Jack B. Hobbs, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
