Elizabeth Jane Castel, 90, of Colona, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Colona. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
She was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Moline, to Jesse and Myrtle Dunbar Buller. She married Eugene Inman Sr. on Oct. 14, 1939, in Rock Island. He passed away in 1972. She later married Alphonso Castel on Oct. 23, 1981, in Galesburg.
She worked as a cook for several restaurants in the area. Most recently she worked at the Canteen Corp. at Farmall, retiring after 27 years. She loved to travel.
Survivors (and spouses) include her husband, Alphonso, Colona; daughter, Gloria Sappington; stepchildren, Diana Soliz, Ramona (Eric) Gumban, Becky (Dave) Navarro, Joseph Castel, Scott (Martina) Castel and Shane (Cyndee) Castel; 35 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Margie) Buller, Silvis, and Bill (Helen) Buller, Knoxville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by sons, Gary and Eugene Inman; five brothers; and two sisters.
