Ellen Cox

Ellen H. Cox, 73, of East Moline, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Heartland Health Care, Moline. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be one hour before the services on Saturday. Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center. She was born June 10, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Warren and Claire Herbe Wetterstroem. She married John Cox Sept. 7, 1956, in Lawrenceburg, Ind. Ellen loved BMX racing with her family and was an avid dog lover. She enjoyed the river, antiques, yard sailing, traveling and RVing. Survivors include her husband, John; children, Mary (Rick) Franks, Rock Island, and John (Marcia) Cox, Orion; grandchildren, Ashley, Jared, Sean, Chelsea and Catlyn; and sisters, Lynn Richter and Nancy Reidel. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Carol Maxey.
