Elsie M. Ringier

Elsie M. Ringier, 95, of Silvis passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her home surrounded by family. 

Funeral services will be 12:00pm Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 2 hours prior to service time. Burial will be at a later date at Hampton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family or one’s favorite charity. 

Elsie was born January 18, 1929 in Wiesbaden, Germany the daughter of Franc and Emma Markwart Hartmann. She married John Ringier Sr. September 7, 1952 in Rochester, NY. They later divorced. She worked in the sewing department at Seaford clothing, was a supervisor at Regalia and also worked at RIMCO. She most recently worked at Panther Uniforms in Rock Island, retiring at age 86. Elsie loved playing the accordion and enjoyed sewing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and was a member of the German American Heritage Club. 

Survivors include her children John Jr. (Kris) Ringier of East Moline, Cindy (Bruce) Colmer of Coal Valley, Susan Ringier of East Moline, Amy Smith of Silvis, Jenelle Anderson of Colona, and Larry (Lorie) Ringier of East Moline; grandchildren Michelle (Chris) Soy, Larry Ringier, Cory Ringier, David (Nicke) Ringier, Erin (Josh) Schatteman, Sarah (Jake) Larson, Adam (Christine) Colmer, Travis Nelson, Matthew (Trisha) Smith, Vanessa (Tony) Whitworth, Dylan (Stephanie) Anderson, Elizabeth (Tyler Younkin) Anderson, and Larry Dickinson; 25 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; step grandchildren Heather, Sarah, and Eric; 2 step great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughters Amanda Colmer, Amber Ringier, and Tabatha Dickinson; great granddaughter Victoria Eastman, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and a son in law Matthew R. Smith Sr.
