Gary L. Sager, 67, of Moline, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is at Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born July 12, 1944, in Moline, son of John and Phyllis Sager Jennings. He married Rosemary VanRycke on Oct. 19, 1963. She passed away in February of 2007. He married JoAnn Sherbeyn on Nov. 22, 2008, in East Moline. He was an engineer for the Rock Island Railroad, retiring after 30 years.
He loved NASCAR.
Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Jennings, Carbon Cliff; wife, JoAnn, Moline; children, Ronda (Tom) Godfrey, Gillette, Wyo., Erica (Terry) Stewart, Altoona, Iowa, Tim Sager, East Moline, Christie Hagedorn, Davenport, Kenneth Gramling, Geneseo; 12 grandchildren; and best, best friends in the whole wide world, John and Maryann Durbin. He was preceded in death by his father, and daughter, Denise Sager.
