George H. Eggerichs, 94, of Silvis, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Illini Restorative Care Center in Silvis.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Services will be private. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moline.
George was born June 18, 1916, in Wiesbaden, Germany, the son of Frederick and Harmine Feldman Eggerichs. He married Ann Mathias on June 26, 1937, in East Moline. She passed away Aug. 11, 1977.
George worked at John Deere as a machinist, retiring in 1976 after 42 years. He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his son, William (Phyllis) Eggerichs, Vermilion, Ohio; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Eggerichs, Charlotte, N.C., Andrew Eggerichs, Vermilion, and Heidi (Jeff) Helms, Killeen, Texas; great-grandchildren, Christopher Eggerichs, Jasmine Helms and Jeff Helms Jr.; and sister, Margaret DeDecker, Silvis. George was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Lynn; and a brother, Herman.
