James Beeson

October 3, 1945 — April 5, 2021

James B. Beeson, 75, of Geneseo passed away April 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

DUE TO FAMILY EXPOSURE TO COVID, SERVICES ARE POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES. Private burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to UPH Trinity Cancer Center, Gilda’s Club, or any cancer treatment center.

James Bernard Beeson was born October 3, 1945 in Fort Dodge, IA the son of Edward and Anna Mae Beeson. He graduated from Bishop Garrigan Catholic High School in Algona, IA in 1963, Iowa State University in 1972, and Texas A&M in 1974. He married Barbara Jean Bennett June 1, 1968 in Fort Dodge, IA. Together they had four children. James served in the US Navy completing 1 tour of duty in Vietnam and worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 33 years. James loved golfing and any excuse to eat Moose Tracks Ice Cream; but most especially he just loved being with his grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years Barbara; children David (Tamara) Beeson of Colona, IL, Jessica (Jeremy) Johnson of Erie, IL, Nicole Beeson of Colona, IL, and Arron (Jennifer) Beeson of Elmhurst, IL; nine grandchildren Veronica (Timothy), Alicia, Katherine, Madeline, Jaden, Kira, Ethan, Amelia and Eloise; siblings Julie (late husband Gordon) Lonning, Gerry (late husband John) Pedersen, Tom (Betty) Beeson, Ann (Gary) Malkhasian, and Patricia (Dan) Chandler and in-law Diane Beeson.  He is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of great friends including his best bud Dave Luciani and longtime friends Jay and Judy Matlock.

James was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mike, Kathy, Jack, and Therese Beeson.
