James P. Cutler, 97, of Silvis passed away July 18, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Graveside services will be private and a celebration of life will be 12-2pm Saturday at East Moline American Legion Post 227. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting the family with arrangements.
James was born March 17, 1920 in Seymour, IA the son of William and Rosalee McClintock Cutler. He married Iva Lee Dooley Oct. 20, 1940 in Princeton, MO. He retired from Rock Island Lines after 43 years of service. James served in the Army during WWII and landed on Omaha Beach on D Day. He was also a member of the East Moline Legion Post 227.
Survivors include his wife Iva Lee; daughters Linda Cutler and Judy Martel; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents, 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
