James Vaughn

James N. Vaughn, 81, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline. James was born Nov. 10, 1934, in Mill Grove, Mo., the son of Waldo "Joe" and Violet Smith Vaughn. He married Anna Gramling on May 21, 1955, in East Moline. She passed away Oct. 27, 2004. James served in the Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Illinois Bell as a technician. Survivors include his children, Terri (LeeRoy) Arnold, Colona, Debbie Johnson, Carbon Cliff, and Janice Vaughn, Silvis; grandchildren, Shawn (Tanika) Arnold, Jamie (Julie) Arnold, Chris (Andrea) Arnold, Joe (Angie) Johnson, Rob (Kimmy) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Kaylee, Kayli, Trenton, Evayla, Travon, Alanis, CJ, Anthony, Zachary, Haylie (Tim), Hope, Jazmin and Evin; and a great-great-grandson, Mason. James was preceded in death by his wife; son, Michael; and a grandson, Jason.
