Jay A. Miller, 67, of Colona passed away December 29, 2017 at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, IL after a prolonged illness.
A memorial service will be 2pm Saturday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Memorials may be made to Leader Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Jay was born Nov. 25, 1950 in Moline, IL the son of Jack and Nora Crawford Miller. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a welder and was a member of the Lions Club and Knights of Columbus, and Leader Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Survivors include his children Dawn (Carl) Vincent of Port Byron, IL, Jacob Miller of Colona and Janel Miller of Germantown, MD; grandchildren Kelsey Cornett or Oregon and Connor May of Moline; great grandson Floyd Kelsey or Oregon; sisters Jackie Miller of Arkansas, Karen Morrison of Geneseo, Sue (Leroy) Kelley of Colona and brother Bud (Jan) Miller of Colona.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents; step father Homer Heron and his brother Chuck Miller.
