Karla Freeman

Karla Freeman, 60, of Davenport, died February 1, 2011, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Services will be 5 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, Ill. Visitation will be two hours before the service Thursday. Memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be in Mt. Comfort, Fayetteville, Ark. Karla was born January 12, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Wilbur and Arlene Maine Kimball. She married Glen Freeman in 1969 in Bettendorf. Glen died March 6, 2009. Karla worked for the State of Arkansas in Health Service. Her passion in life was caring for her husband, children and grandchildren with love and compassion. Survivors include her father, Wilbur Kimball of Mount Aire, Iowa; children, Laura Freeman and Marci (Saul) Gutierrez, all of Davenport, Dan (Jenny) Freeman of Silvis, and Deanna Portwood of Fayetteville, Ark.; grandchildren, David and Sam Roelandt, Kelsie Curry, Anthony, Tomas, Ethan and Gracie Gutierrez, Hannah, Nathan, Joel, Lauren, Seth and Caleb Freeman, Ciera Freeman, Hunter and Kody Portwood; one great-grandchild, Delayney Roelandt; and sisters, Cheryl Spoor and Celeste Kane. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and a grandson, Austin Daniel Freeman.
