Karsyn Lopez

Karsyn Kevin Allen Lopez, 17, of Silvis passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Mercy One Genesis Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 5:00 pm Friday July 17, 2026, at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis with visitation from 3:00 pm to service time. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline, at a later date. Memorials may be made to Rescued in Silvis.

Karsyn was born December 2, 2008, in Moline, IL. The son of Autumn DeKoster and Jamie Lopez.

Karsyn enjoyed playing video games, working out, 4 wheeling, fishing, traveling and the outdoors. Karsyn was charismatic, funny, very creative, curious, hardworking, and enjoyed building things and taking them apart. Karsyn was very dedicated and loyal to his family and friends. He enjoyed Oreos, tropical skittles and Taco Bell.

Survivors include his mother Autumn DeKoster, father Jamie (Ashley Akers) Lopez; sister Avieyonna Kapua; Grandparents, Charley Lawver, Diane (Frank) Farrell, Allen DeKoster, Gregg Martin; Great Grandfather Bert Lawver; Uncles Gary Jackson, Jeremy (Taylor) Vols; Aunts Val (Andrew) Vols, Kimberly (Joe) Hewlett, Meishara (John) VanHolten; several great aunts, uncles, cousins, along with many chosen family.

Karsyn was proceded in death by his Grandmother Michelle Martin, Great Grandfather Daniel Lindell, Great Grandmother Mardelle Lopez, Great Aunt Marlene (Kevin) Fry, cousin Stephanie Moore, and his dog Maria.

As Karsyn often said, all waves eventually must settle. Though his journey has come to rest, his love endures in the lives he touched and will continue to ripple outward for years to come.
