Kenneth K. Thomas, 81, of East Moline passed away Tuesday April 23, 2014 at Manor Care, Davenport.
Funeral services will be 12 pm Wednesday with visitation 2 hours before the service at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
Kenneth was born May 20, 1932 in Albia, Iowa the son of Pearl & Hazel Morris Thomas. He married Mae Glover on March 19, 1978 in East Moline. He retired from the Army in 1972 serving during the Korean War. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking, building, and drawing.
Survivors include his wife Mae; children Katrina (Michael) Bradford of Peoria, Terrell Thomas of Tennessee, Jada Thomas of East Moline; and Alan Watson of East Moline who was like a son to Ken; grandchildren James, Jasmine, Jordan, JaNaya, Isaiah, Kiana, Davion, and Taesean; sisters Pearl Hayes of Detroit MI., Bernice Reed, Katherine Teague, and Carol (James Sr.) Morney all of East Moline and a host of nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Taejeon; brothers Edward, Carl, Frank, and William; sisters Clauann Williamson and Marilyn Baker.
