Kenneth Townsend

Kenneth Townsend, 73, of Moline passed away July 9, 2015 at Trinity Rock Island surrounded by his family following a courageous battle against cancer. A celebration of life will be held at 5pm July 17 at the Brown Jug in East Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Kenneth was born Feb. 9, 1942 in Osceola, IA the son of Everette and Floella Hines Townsend. He married Karla Donder March 4, 2015 in Rock Island. Kenneth retired from IH as a machinist and also worked at Bender Trucking. He enjoyed fishing, camping and watching the Cubs. Survivors include his wife Karla; daughter Barb (Dave) Struve of Davenport; son Jay of Keithsburg; brother Phil Townsend of Fort Wayne, IN and 12 grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sister Roberta Tenney and his brothers Mike and Jerry Townsend.
