LeRoy F. Petersen, 82, of Silvis passed away December 17, 2016 at Unity Point Rock Island.
Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in East Moline with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Visitation will also be 5-7pm Tuesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in East Moline.
LeRoy was born May 11, 1934 in Moline, IL the son of Christopher and Anna Baron Petersen. He married Barbara Korb Aug 18, 1960 in Wapello, IA. He worked 10 years for Alcoa as a crane operator and has spent the last 40 years as a real estate investor and property manager. LeRoy enjoyed racing radio controlled boats and many other hobbies. He was a member of the Airport Authority, the Rock Island County Board and the Rock Island County Public Building Commission.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of Silvis; daughter Gayle (Scott) Carr of Mapleton, IL; grandchildren Matt Carr and Sara Carr and 2 nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Chris.
