Lester L. Crew

Lester L. Crew Sr., 88, of Colona passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026 surrounded by his family at Unity Point Hospital in Rock Island.

Visitation will be 11-2pm with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm Saturday, August 22nd at Schroder Mortuary in Colona. Burial will follow at Dayton Corners Cemetery in Colona. Memorials may be made to the family.

Lester was born March 17, 1938 in Chillicothe, IL the son of Ray and Ella Perry Crew. He married the love of his life Antoinette Grumadas on October 17, 1959 in East Moline, IL. She passed away January 1, 2014.

Lester worked for Sullivan Roofing for 15 years before opening his own roofing company, Lester Crew Roofing. He retired at the age of 72 in 2010. He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling, going to the casino, and playing euchre and pool. He also enjoyed buying and selling old cars and trucks. He loved his dogs Buddy, Peanut, and Joey and especially loved his family.

Survivors include his children Les (Angie) Crew, Rick (Julie) Crew, and Chris (Melvin) Larson; grandchildren Josh Crew, Tammy (Mike Hueser) Crew, Steven (Shelly) Crew, Ashley (Ryan) Erichsen, and Taylor (Derek) Wilke; great grandchildren Bella Crew, Ryley Erichsen, Eldon Crew, Avery Crew, and Ani Crew.

Lester was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Connie, grandson Daniel Crew, and siblings Bill, Raymond, Hilda, Richard, Robert, Donny, Dorothy, Eileen, and Elmer.
