Lloyd Phelps, 80, of Silvis, died Saturday, July 2, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smiles or Make a Wish Foundation.
He was born Jan. 15, 1931, in Moline, to Leo Orchowski and May Hagermann. He married Dolores Wisehart May 18, 1951, in Rock Island.
Lloyd was a truck lift mechanic for Case IH. He retired after 42 years of service.
He enjoyed camping, tinkering on cars and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton, and a 42-year member of the UAW Local 1304.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, Linda (Jim) Dieterich, Silvis, Luann (Frank) Bunker, Rapids City, and Lorie DeCastecker, Moline; grandchildren, Kristi Diaz, Todd Dieterich, Mandi, Brian and Karen Bunker, Joshua, Brianne and Meghan DeCastecker; great-grandchildren, Ricqui, Alicia, Connor and Sophia Diaz, Carter and Zachary Dieterich, Chad Kubec, Jacob and Zachary Bull, Emilie DeCastecker and three on the way.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd; and his parents.
