Lola Jane Flores

Lola Jane Flores, 89, of Geneseo passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Cremation rites will be accorded and there will be a family gathering at a later date. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Lola was born May 6, 1934 in Davenport, IA the daughter of Marvin and Marie Shimp Seward. She married Julius Geest in 1955 in Davenport, Iowa. He passed away in 2016. She married Jesse Flores in Riverside, California. He passed away in 2017. Lola worked as an RN in California. She attended Federated Church of Alturas in California, Viola United Methodist Church, and Star of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Galesburg. Lola enjoyed gardening, volunteering at the senior center and the thrift store, and camping. She was a member of the Isaac Walton League and loved spending time with her dog Cedar.

Survivors include her daughter Susan (Tim) Brown of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren Jason (Rachel) Beaird of Erie, IL, Anthony (Khloe) Beaird of Moline IL, Kayla Geest of Oakhurst, CA, Cory Geest of North fork, CA, Stefanie (Nick) Timmerman of Maquoketa, IA, Kurtis Brown of Moline IL, and Amber Brown of Clinton IA; great grandchildren Khrysta (Evan) Schillinger, Austin Beaird, Sara Gaskill, Ellie Beaird, Blakely Beaird, Maizey Beaird. Taylor Poll, Timmy Poll, Carter Poll, and Hunter Bray; sister Carol Kay Thompson of Eldridge, IA and several nieces and nephews.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son Michael Geest in 2015.
