Margaret "Peggy" Thurman, 91, of Colona passed away March 23, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10am Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colona. Visitation will be 4-7pm Monday at Schroder Mortuary in Colona with a rosary at 3:30pm. Burial will be at Dayton Corners Cemetery in Colona. Memorials may be made to Colona Food Pantry.
Peggy was born Aug. 20, 1926 in Viola, IL the daughter of William and Florence Brownlee Lynn. She married Gerald Thurman Aug. 3, 1946 in Moline, IL. He passed away Feb. 20, 2004. Peggy worked as a seamstress and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, hiking and biking. She was also a volunteer at the Colona Food Pantry and a member of St. Anne's Circle.
Survivors include her sons Virgil (Cathy) Thurman of Geneseo, Scott (Beth) Thurman of Colona and Bryon (Pam) Thurman of Colona; grandchildren Faye (Scott), Matt (Kristy), Andy (Morgan), Daniel (Nikki), Christopher (Andrea) and Claire (Nick); great grandchildren Vincent, Brennan, Francis, Imogen, Lillian, Hillary and Mia; brothers Allan (Bessie) Lynn and John (Twila) Lynn and brother in law Earl Hansen.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters Jane, Mary and Colleen. The family would like to thank Hope Creek Memory Unit for the exceptional care given to Peggy.
