Marvin Williams Jr

Marvin Williams Jr., 70, of Moline, passed away May 10, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with a memorial visitation one hour before service time. Memorials may be made to the family. Marvin was born May 6, 1944, in Moline, the son of Marvin and Helen Inman Williams. He worked at the YWCA for 15 years. He later retired from the Post Restaurant on the Rock Island Arsenal. Marvin was an avid White Sox and Bears fan. Survivors include his sisters, Evelyn (Larry) Hasson, Bettendorf, Carol (Don) Willis, Moline, and Joy (Rod) Sellers, Davenport; seven nieces and nephews, including Samantha Arnold and Pastor Billy Willis; and 12 great-nieces and -nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jack E. Williams.
