Mary Frances (Anderson) Green slipped away quietly and peacefully into eternity on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of her children when she transcended to Paradise to be with her Lord.
Mary was born on December 5, 1945 to Gerhart and Velma Anderson in Albert Lea, MN. She married Larry Lee Green on September 7, 1968 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Moline. Together they raised four children Michelle (Christopher Caughon) Green-Youngworth of Davenport, IA, Larry (Kathy) Green of Davenport, IA, Scott Green of East Moline, and John Green of East Moline.
Mary was, above all, a loving Grammy to grandchildren Jamie, Connor, Noah, Wyatt, John, and Caroline, for whom she left a strong legacy and loved with all of her heart. Mary loved supporting her children and grandchildren in their endeavors, whether it be through sporting events, band concerts, or personal achievements.
She was a member of Countryside Christian and Calvary Lutheran Churches. She loved God and singing His praises. Mary enjoyed serving in many committees for Christian Woman’s Clubs and was an avid bowler on the Alley Kats bowling league. She worked for the ARC/RIC as a direct service worker for the state of Illinois until she retired. During her career, she was awarded as the top direct service worker for the state of Illinois.
In addition to her immediate family, those left to cherish her memory include her brother William (Carol) Anderson of Minesota; her honorary daughters, Laura Reed and Tabitha Green; her nieces and nephews, and her best friends, Nina and Sue.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Glenn Anderson, and son-in-law John Youngworth.
