Mary L. Nelson, 92, of Silvis passed away June 1, 2017 at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo.
Visitation will be 2-4 Sunday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Graveside services will be 1pm Wednesday at South Oak Grove Cemetery in Stuart, IA.
Mary was born Jan. 18, 1925 in Louisa County, IA the daughter of Robert and Bertha Ashby Robertson. She married William D. Nelson Jan. 18, 1947 in Rock Island. He passed away June 29, 1999. Mary was a business owner, a secretary, a farmer and a housekeeper. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, canning and studying the bible.
Survivors include her daughter Connie R. (David) Wirfs of Hillsdale, IL; son Donald W. Nelson of Silvis; grandchildren David J. Wallace of Coal Valley, Melissa L. Bonner of Mediapolis, IA and Allen (Megan) Wirfs of Rosco, IL; great grandchild Skylier J. Wallace.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 12 siblings.
