Melissa K. Cain

Melissa K. Cain, 59, of Moline passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Visitation will be 4-7 Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice.

Melissa was born March 26, 1967 in Rock Island, IL the daughter of Lonnie Cunningham and Nancy Parker Ryster. She married Darren Cain November 5, 1986 in East Moline. Melissa worked for Davenport Schools as the cafeteria Head Cook. Melissa was a people person, loved her grandchildren, shopping, riding on the Harley and hanging out by the pool.

Survivors include her mother Nancy Ryster; husband Darren; children Meagan Cain and Bobby Cain grandchildren; Mellie McNabb, Brinley Cain and Olivia Cain, siblings Danny (Brenda) Cunningham, Rich (Judy) Cunningham, Karrie (Brian) Allen, and Katie Ryster.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father Lonnie.
