Milton Johnson

Milton E. Johnson, 66, of Colona, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at OSF Saint Francis Hospital, Peoria, Ill. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend may meet at Schroder Mortuary, Colona, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. Milton was born Feb. 2, 1950, in Moline, the son of Chester Johnson and Evelyn McKinney. He was married to Jennie Bernauer for 31 years. Milton served in the Marines during the Vietnam Era. He received a welding degree from Black Hawk College. He worked at R.I. Lines for 11 years and then worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring after 29 years. He enjoyed woodworking and golf. Survivors include his children, Jennie Lynn (Jose) Becerra and Paul (Tina) Johnson, both of East Moline; grandchildren, Kenzi Johnson, Ellianna Becerra, Jose Becerra Jr., Brenden Johnson and Caleb Johnson; sisters, Becky (Larry) York, Silvis, and Judy Shannon, Bettendorf. Milton was preceded in death by his parents.
