Olive Mae Haydon, 93, of East Moline passed away November 10, 2016 at Park Vista in East Moline.
Services will be private. Schroder Mortuary in Silvis is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the River Bend Food Bank.
Olive was born June 7, 1923 in Moline, IL the daughter of Irvin and Eda Mae Miller Whitmore. She was a UTHS graduate class of 1941. Olive married Edward Haydon Jan. 18, 1946 in Silvis. She worked as a secretary to the principal at Moline High School for 30 years retiring in 1983. Olive enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir for 30 years at Silvis United Methodist Church with her husband and often reminisced about "singing for the boys" at the USO when they would return home from WWII. Olive also loved traveling with her husband.
Survivors include her husband Ed; son Kirk (LuAnn) Haydon of Hampton and a grandson Brent Haydon of East Moline.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Lloyd and Donald Whitmore.
