Paul Nickell, 63, of Moline, formerly of Colona, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at his home.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center or Kings Harvest Animal Shelter Center in Davenport.
Paul was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Moline, the son of Harold and Pamela Bartlett Nickell. He was previously married to Pat Vrban for several years.
He served in the Air Force during Vietnam. Paul was a machinist at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed going to the YMCA, fishing and the Cubs.
Survivors include his brothers, Rob (Patricia) Nickell, Davenport and Larry (Vickie) Nickell, Rock Island; nieces and nephews, Tiffany (Mark) McVietty, Moline, Travis Randels, Moline and Brian Nickell, Moline; great-nieces and -nephews, Brandon Kincaid, Megan Quick, Blaine McVietty, Keely McVietty, Christopher Nickell and Alexandria Nickell.Paul was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Wendy Nickell Gooch.
